ilight was the lighting designer for two of Burj Al Arab iconic areas: the lobby and the Al Mahara Restaurant.

The lobby inside the sail shaped hotel that pays homage to the UAE’s seafaring history, is a sight to behold. Guests marvel as the fountains dance, the rich interior colours amaze and the 24-carat gold leaf pillars dazzle. From the Statucrio marble, hand-crafted rugs and carved wooden doors to the vibrant aquarium, home to over four thousand fish, this is luxury personified and a scene that truly surpasses imagination.

The restaurant  Al Mahara ("oyster shell" in Arabic) on the first floor of the 5-star Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has earned its reputation thanks to the culinary talents of British chef Nathan Outlaw.
